合成云母是以氟离子代替羟基，在常压条件下合成出的尺寸大、晶型完整的人工云母。合成云母带是将合成云母抄制成的云母纸为主要材料，再用粘合剂将玻璃布粘贴在一面或两面而制成的。将玻璃布粘贴在云母纸一面的叫做“单面带”，两面都粘贴的叫“双面带”。在制造过程中，将几个结构层次粘合在一起后，再经过炉子烘干，然后收卷，再分切成不同规格的带子。 合成云母带除具有天然云母带的特性即：膨胀系数小、介电强度大、电阻率高和介电常数均匀以外，其主要特点是耐热等级高，可达到A级耐火水平（950一1000℃）
